Built from hardened steel, these step bits enlarge existing holes in metal in stepped increments. To use, drill a starter hole first with a smaller bit, then run the step bit through to enlarge the hole to the desired diameter, each step on the bit opens the hole a defined increment further. Care should be taken when drilling into stainless steel vessels, as drilling may void warranty coverage on the vessel.
